Centre for Modern Buddhism in North and West Cumbria

Welcome to Uma Kadampa Meditation Centre in Carlisle!

We are right in the centre of town and easily accessible. Our aim is to offer you a variety of meditation classes – from simple methods to quieten the mind (ideal for beginners), inspiring meditations for World Peace and more in-depth classes, study programmes and retreats.

Meditation is a beautiful and practical way of finding inner peace, reducing stress and finding solutions to the problems of daily life.

We have a range of classes suitable for complete beginners to experienced meditators – all based on a pure lineage of teachings, as presented by Geshe Kelsang Gyatso, a fully accomplished meditation master and internationally renowned teacher of Buddhism. Classes include simple Lunchtime Meditations, Prayers and Meditations for World Peace on Sundays, evening classes on Thursdays, and an in-depth study programme.
